Game NotesHOUSTON – The HBU men's basketball team will play their home opener on Monday, hosting Crowley's Ridge in a 7 p.m. tip inside Sharp Gym. A video and audio broadcast with Lonnie King will be available on HBUHuskies.com, beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show.
The first 250 fans through the door will receive schedule magnets, laying out the 2015-16 slate.
The Huskies (0-1) fell 91-69 in their season opener at New Mexico State on Friday night. Senior
Anthony Odunsi led the team with 12 points, while senior
Caleb Crayton and junior
Colter Lasher each finished with 11 points. Sophomore guard
Trey Patterson finished with nine points for HBU.
The Huskies have won their last four home openers, including a 75-61 victory over CRC in the 2013-14 season.
The Pioneers (2-2) enters Monday night's action on a two-game skid. CRC opened its season with wins at Blue Mountain College (78-73) and against Ottawa University (101-96, OT), before falling at Williams Baptist College (95-79) and against Central Baptist College (99-94) last week.
Following Monday's tilt, HBU will embark on a four-game road swing as part of the Cancun Challenge. The Huskies will visit TCU (Nov. 11) and Illinois State (Nov. 21), before playing South Dakota State and either Cleveland State or Rider at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya across November 24-25.
