HOUSTON – The HBU volleyball team fell 3-0 (20-25, 15-25, 16-25) to Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on Saturday afternoon inside Sharp Gym.
The Huskies (8-10, 1-3 SLC) were outhit .287-.114 by TAMU-CC (16-4, 4-0 SLC), as the Islanders picked up their sixth straight victory and fifth consecutive sweep.

Madison O'Brien recorded a career-high 25 assists in her first start of the season.
Junior outside hitter
Jessica Wooten led HBU with nine kills, while sophomores
Bailey Banks and
Blair Gillard followed with seven kills apiece. Banks also led the team on the back row, recording 10 digs.
The Huskies traded points with TAMU-CC to open the match. Down 8-7, the Islanders capitalized on a service error to swing momentum and record three consecutive points from their offense. TAMU-CC used the surge to build its lead to five points at 15-10 and held the margin the rest of the way to claim a 25-20 victory.
The Islanders never trailed and outhit HBU .355-.129 to take the second set, 25-15, and carry a 2-0 lead into the break.
The Huskies were held to a .069 hitting percentage in the third set, as the Islanders turned in a match-high .391 clip to close the match in straight sets with a 25-16 win.
HBU will embark on a two-match road swing next week, visiting Northwestern State (Oct. 8) and Stephen F. Austin (Oct. 10).
