Kristi O'Brien scored her second-career goal in HBU's 3-1 loss to Montana Friday evening at Sorrels Field.
O'Brien and
Allison Abendschein each had two shots for HBU (1-4-0), while the duo and
Taylor Gibson had a shot on goal apiece.
Patty Walrath finished the match one save shy of tying her career high of nine, as she stopped eight Montana shots Friday.
Both Hallie Widner and Carlee Bates had three shot for Montana (3-2-0), as they both connected on every shot attempt. Kailey Norman made two saves in the win.
The first half was quiet, as all four goals were scored in the second half. The Grizzlies outshot HBU, 5-3, in the opening half and had a big advantage in corner kicks, 8-0.
Montana's Chloe Torres gave the visitors a 1-0 lead six minutes into the second half, with an unassisted tally off a free kick. Mackenzie Akins gave Montana a 2-0 lead in the 66
th minute, as she received a long pass up the left side and beat Walrath short-side. Widner scored Montana's third goal, just six minutes after Akins' score.
HBU got on the scoreboard in the 84
th minute, as O'Brien took a free kick and sent a rocket just under the cross bar.
HBU hosts Oral Roberts Sunday at 1 pm.
