Tobenna Uzo, who scored his first goal and recorded his fourth point of the season, in the Huskies' 1-1 double-overtime tie against Oral Roberts Friday afternoon.
Eight minutes after play resumed after the delay, Uzo gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead, assisted by
Patrick Toh, at the 26:47-mark.
Thilo Borgmann took a corner kick and, with the ball bouncing around in the box, Toh headed the ball to Uzo, who headed the ball into the back of the net.
The score remained that way until halftime. HBU outshot the Golden Eagles, 7-4, in the opening half and had a 2-0 advantage in corner kicks.
ORU evened the match at 1-1 in the 52
nd minute, as Johnny Chavez scored, assisted by Edgardo Mira and Alex White.
Uzo came millimeters away from giving the Huskies a 2-1 lead in the 78
th minute, as his header attempt hit the post.
HBU outshot ORU, 11-8, in the second half, but ORU had all four shot attempts in the overtime periods. HBU outshot the Golden Eagles in the match, 18-16.
Alex Baez, Uzo, and
Gustavo Alvarado each had four shots for the Huskies.
Kevin Suarez made six saves in goal.
Matthew Rogers led ORU (1-0-1) with three shots. Ben LaCourse stopped nine shots between the pipes.
HBU (0-0-2) hosts IUPUI next Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7 pm.
