HOUSTON – After a four-match road trip to open the season, HBU women's soccer returns home to face Montana Friday at 7 pm and Oral Roberts Sunday at 1 pm.
Friday's match is part of a doubleheader with the men's team, who hosts Oral Roberts at 5 pm.
HBU is 0-1 against both the Grizzlies and Golden Eagles, who first met last season. Montana defeated the Huskies, 1-0, in the Montana Invitational, and ORU shut out HBU, 3-0, in Houston, when ORU was a member of the Southland Conference.
HBU (1-3-0) outscored its opponents, 4-2, in a 1-1-0 road weekend. The Huskies defeated New Mexico State, 3-0, on Aug. 29, and lost a close 2-1 match to UTEP on Aug. 31.
Natalie Hager scored in both matches and leads the Huskies with two goals and four points. She leads the team with seven shots and four shots on goal.
Ellee Hall has a goal and two points.
Patty Walrath earned her sixth-career shutout Friday and is 1-3-0 this season with a 1.21 goals-against average and a .722 save percentage.
Montana is 2-2-0 on the season, defeating Air Force 1-0 and Gonzaga 2-0. The Grizzlies are on a season-high seven-match road trip.
Four different players have two points, while Chloe Torres leads the team with two assists. Mackenzie Akins, who has one of the team's three goals, leads the Grizzlies with 11 shots and four shots on goal.
Kailey Norman is 2-2-0 in goal with a 0.75 GAA, a .889 save percentage, and two shutouts.
Oral Roberts (0-2-2) has tied its last two opponents after losing its first two matches. ORU went 0-0-2 at the Tulsa Invitational, with the first match at home and the second match at the University of Tulsa.
Three different Golden Eagles have scored a goal, while Madison Valenzuela leads the team with three assists. She has a team-high nine shots and four shots on goal.
Maddie Rhodes is 0-2-2 with a 2.25 GAA and .630 save percentage.
