HOUSTON - HBU will hold its first-ever Homecoming football game on campus when the Huskies host Nicholls, which will also be looking for its first win in Southland Conference play this season, Saturday at 7 p.m. at Husky Stadium. The game will be shown live on ESPN3, while the Legacy Sports Network audio broadcast with Lonnie King and Alonzo Williams is available on HBUHuskies.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.

The Huskies (1-6, 0-4 SLC) are led by redshirt freshman running back B.J. Kelly, who has carried 89 times for 444 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Jonathan Fleming returned to the lineup last week against Stephen F. Austin and has completed 71-of-129 passes for 808 yards, nine touchdowns and seven interceptions. Senior tight end Kenneth Bibbins leads HBU with 20 catches for 297 yards and four touchdowns, which have all come in the last three games Fleming has played.

On defense for HBU, redshirt freshman linebacker Garrett Dolan ranks third in the Southland in tackles per game, totaling 62 for the season, including five for losses and 2.5 sacks. Junior defensive end Josh Jones ranks fourth in the league with 4.5 sacks and freshman safety Jonathan Buffin leads the team with a pair of interceptions.

Quarterback Kalen Henderson has completed 81-of-173 passes for 786 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions for Nicholls (0-8, 0-4). Running back Michael Henry has rushed for 555 yards and pair of touchdowns, while Tobias Lofton has added three rushing touchdowns. Keenan Canty has 20 catches for 151 yards and two touchdowns and is one of the top punt return threats in the Southland, averaging 19.7 yards per return with one for a touchdown. Demon Bolt leads the Colonels with 243 receiving yards.

Davin Bovie leads the Colonels, defensively with 74 tackles, including 3.5 for losses. Ronnie Walker and Kameryon Brown each have 60 tackles, with Walker recording Nicholls' only sack on the season. B.T. Sanders and Josh Singleton each have a pair of interceptions.

Last week, the Huskies fell to Stephen F. Austin, 59-27, at home, but Kelly rushed for 123 yards and became the first player in HBU history to top 100 yards rushing or receiving in a single game. The Huskies have recorded 12 plays of 25 yards or more this season, with five of those coming against the Lumberjacks. Nicholls is coming off a 63-21 loss at home to Lamar. Canty was named Southland Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after returning a punt 83 yards for a touchdown and also catching a touchdown pass.

The Huskies hit the road for their final two road games of the season, back-to-back for the third time this year, when they face Lamar Nov. 1 in Beaumont, followed by eighth-ranked Southeastern Louisiana Nov. 8 in Hammond.
