The Huskies (3-12, 0-3 SLC) have lost seven in a row and are led by sophomore guard
Rob Lewis, who averages 11.3 points per game. Sophomore forward
Cody Joyce averages 10.3 points per game, and junior guard
Tyler Russell adds 10.1 points per game. Junior center
Ricmonds Vilde is the team leader with 5.5 rebounds per contest.
Jalan West leads the Demons (5-9, 1-2) with 18.0 points per game, and DeQuan Hicks averages 16.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Zikiteran Woodley averages 15.5 points per game, and Brison White chips in with 13.3 points per game. Northwestern State leads the Southland in scoring at 89.2 points per game, but has lost four of its last five, including an overtime loss at Baylor and a double overtime setback against Sam Houston State.
HBU fell to Stephen F. Austin, 77-50, Thursday night, with Joyce leading the Huskies with 10 points. Northwestern State lost to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 101-87. Woodley led four Demons in double figures with 27 points, while West had 17 points and nine assists.
Northwestern State leads the all-time series against HBU, 14-12, and claimed the last meeting with the Huskies, 87-78, on Nov. 15, 2010 in Natchitoches, La.
The Huskies go back on the road for a pair of conference game next week as they face Nicholls State Thursday in Thibodaux, La., followed by McNeese State Saturday in Lake Charles, La. The McNeese State game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
