HOUSTON – The HBU women's basketball team will close out their non-conference schedule and 2013, as the Huskies host Huston-Tillotson on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 2 pm from Sharp Gym.

HBU is 24-1 all-time against the Lady Rams, and defeated HTU last season in Houston, 88-51.

In the Huskies' last outing, HBU (3-7) led UC Davis at halftime, 28-26, but the Aggies outscored the Huskies, 26-24, in the second half to force overtime. UC Davis scored the first five points in OT to defeat HBU, 63-58, on Dec. 21.

Sophomore Monet Neal came within one rebound and one steal shy of becoming just the second player in program history to record a triple-double (the feat occurred in 2005-06 by Sherrill Hadrick). Neal scored 16 points and added nine rebounds and nine steals. The 16 points and nine steals were career highs, while the nine boards tied her career mark.

Shanice Steenholdt leads HBU on the season with 15.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Erin McGarrachan is second with 12.2 points, while Anna Strickland has 6.4 rebounds per game.

Huston-Tillotson (1-5) has not played since defeating visiting Southwest (N.M.), 103-51, on Dec. 14.

Trazhazia Webb leads the Lady Rams with 22.7 points per game on the season, while Janiqua Moore follows with 14.0. Shaniqua Thomas leads HTU with 9.0 rebounds per game.
