HOUSTON – Future Southland Conference rivals HBU and Abilene Christian square off Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium, with the live television broadcast on CSN Houston and the Huskies' audio broadcast on Legacy Sports Network.

The Huskies (2-1) have won back-to-back games, the first a 52-28 victory on the road against Wayland Baptist, then a 34-3 thumping of Oklahoma Baptist in the program's first-ever home game two weeks ago. In both of those victories, HBU shut out its opponent in the second half.

The Huskies' offense is led by true freshman quarterback Ka'Darius Baker, who has completed 60.0 percent of his passes for 549 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while true freshman running back B.J. Kelly has rushed for 278 yards, three touchdowns and leads HBU with 391 all-purpose yards. Junior Darian Lazard and freshman Wesley Lewis each have 10 catches and a touchdown.

On defense, Terrell Brown III has 27 tackles, including two for losses, a sack and an interception return for a touchdown for HBU. Garrett Dolan has 23 tackles and also has a pick six, while Taylor Thompson has a pair of interceptions -- each coming in the red zone.

Abilene Christian (3-3) has lost three in a row, after winning its first three games of the season. John David Baker has a 64.0 completion percentage for 1,648 yards, 19 touchdowns and only two interceptions. Charcandrick West has 80 carries for 435 yards and eight touchdowns, while Taylor Gabriel has 31 receptions for 434 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, Angel Lopez leads the Wildcats with 51 tackles, while Nick Richardson has seven sacks. Tyler Chapa is one of three Wildcats with two interceptions, returning both for a touchdown.

The Huskies return to action when they face another future conference foe Incarnate Word, Oct. 26 in San Antonio, before returning home for their final two games of the season at Strake Jesuit, Nov. 2 against Texas College and Nov. 9 against Texas A&M-Commerce on Homecoming.
