Women’s Golf Ties for 6th at Monterey Bay Invitational

Junior Kelsey Lou-Hing recorded her fourth top-10 finish of the season at the Monterey Bay Invitational Tuesday.

MONTEREY, Calif. – Houston Baptist University posted its lowest round of the tournament with a 313 to finish tied for sixth at the Monterey Bay Invitational Tuesday at the 6,018-yard, par-72 Del Monte Golf Club.
 
Junior Kelsey Lou-Hing closed with a 76 and tied for ninth at 231, while sophomore Katie Paxton also shot a 76 and tied for 16th at 235. Senior Paige Gibson carded an 82 to tie for 25th at 241, while sophomore Jessica Ngui finished with her best round of the tournament, shooting 79 to tie for 29th at 242. Senior Natasha Lee shot an 83 and tied for 41st at 246. Freshman Caitlyn Cassity was playing individually and shot 80 to tie for 47th at 247.
 
Wichita State won the team title with a score of 927, three strokes ahead of Columbia and four strokes ahead of Missouri State. Winthrop and Central Arkansas totaled 945 to finish one stroke ahead of HBU and Cal Poly.
 
Missouri State's Chiara Citterio was playing individually and claimed the individual title at seven-over par 223, two strokes ahead of Central Arkansas' Julia Roth and Cal Poly's Taylor Yoshitake.
 
The Huskies return to action when they host the Husky Invitational April 2-3 at Riverbend Country Club in Missouri City.
