PRIMM, Nev. – Houston Baptist University senior Paige Gibson shot a final round 79 to finish third with a tournament total of 226 to lead the Huskies to a fifth-place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational Tuesday at Primm Valley Golf Club's Lake Course.
 
Junior Kelsey-Lou Hing fired a 75 and tied for 11^th at 235, while sophomore Katie Paxton carded the Huskies' lowest round of the day with a 74 to tie for 20^th at 239. Senior Natasha Lee tied for 46^th at 251 with an 85 in the final round, and freshman Caitlyn Cassity tied for 55^th at 254, also with an 85 on Tuesday.
 
Arkansas State won the tournament with a score of 935, three strokes ahead of Oral Roberts. Northern Iowa finished third at 940, North Dakota State finished fourth at 941, and HBU rounded out the top five with a score of 943.
 
Southern Utah's Monica Jung claimed the individual title with a 54-hole total of even-par 216. North Dakota State's Amy Anderson blistered the course for a 6-under par 66 to finish one stroke behind at 217.
 
The Huskies return to action at the Monterey Invitational hosted by Drake and Missouri State at Del Monte Golf Club March 19-20 in Monterey, Calif.
