CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Houston Baptist split the difference of its first two rounds to finish with a 312 and a 54-hole score of 936 after the final round of the Islander Classic Tuesday at the 6,093-yard, par-72 Corpus Christi Country Club.

Katie Paxton tied for 13
th with a toal of 231, closing with a round of 76, while senior
Paige Gibson turned in the Huskies' lowest round of the tournament with a 75 to tie for 23
rd at 233. Senior
Natasha Lee tied for 32
nd, closing with an 81 and totaling 238. Junior
Kelsey Lou-Hing shot an 83 to tie for 35
th at 239, while sophomore
Jenny Kang finished with an 80 and tied for 43
rd at 243. Sophomore
Jessica Ngui competed individually, carded a 78, and tied for 37
th at 240.
Texas-San Antonio captured the team title with its third-straight round of 296, for a final score of 888. The Roadrunners finished 40 strokes ahead of Lamar, who finished four strokes better than host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi finished four strokes ahead of HBU, which finished one stroke ahead of Bradley.
UTSA's Summer Batiste and Taylor Newlin tied for the individual title at 220. Batiste shot a final-round 71, while Newlin shot 75. They finished one stroke ahead of Amy Anderson, who shared the 36-hole lead with Newlin.
The Huskies return to action at the Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State March 12-13 at Primm Valley Resort in Primm, Nev.
