EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon made 9-of-16 3-pointers and held Houston Baptist to a 26 percent field goal percentage for the game to cruise to a 91-50 victory in non-conference basketball Saturday afternoon at Matthew Knight Arena.

Art Bernardi made 4-of-10 from the field, including all three of his 3-point attempts, for 14 points to lead the Huskies (4-7). Sophomore

Tony Woods led four Oregon (10-2) players in double figures with 14 points to go along with six rebounds. E.J. Singler scored all 13 of his points in the first half, hitting 3-of-4 from long range, while Damyean Dotson and Carlos Emory had 10 points apiece. Dotson also added eight rebounds. Waverly Austin led the Ducks with nine rebounds and added eight points, and Ben Carter had eight points and eight boards.
Oregon shot 49 percent from the field for the game and went 16-for-23 from the free-throw line. HBU made 6-of-15 from long range and went 8-for-15 from the line. The Ducks outrebounded the Huskies, 52-39, and outscored them, 42-20, in the paint.
The Ducks used a 10-0 run early in the first half to take a 17-4 lead with 14:40 remaining. An 11-0 spurt by Oregon made the score 28-7, but the Huskies got a three from Bernardi and a layup by Harper to trim the deficit. The Ducks got back-to-back threes from Singler and outscored the Huskies, 12-0, to take a 40-12 lead with 6:11 remaining in the half. Lewis knocked down a three as HBU outscored Oregon, 11-2, to get the Huskies back within 19 with 2:26 to play in the frame. Bernardi buried a three for HBU just before the buzzer as Oregon took a 51-30 lead into halftime.
Oregon shot 55 percent from the field, while holding HBU to 32 percent in the half. The Ducks made 5-of-7 3-pointers, and the Huskies hit 4-of-8. Oregon outrebounded HBU, 26-16 in the first. Bernardi had 14 points in the opening frame for the Huskies, while Singler had 13 and Dotson had 10 for the Ducks.
The Ducks opened the second half with a 16-1 run to lead 67-31 with 12:13 remaining. Oregon led by 39 at the 8:36 mark, but HBU kept fighting and Russell's 3-pointer with 3:41 left made the score, 81-48.
The Huskies return to action after Christmas when they hit the road to face LSU Friday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m. in Baton Rouge, La.
