Women’s Soccer Closes Out Regular Season Hosting Delaware State, Howard

Huskies host DSU Saturday afternoon for Senior Day; Howard comes to Sorrels Field Monday night

Live Stats

HOUSTON – The Houston Baptist women's soccer team host conference rivals Delaware State and Howard in the final two regular season matches of the season. Kickoff against DSU is 1 pm Saturday afternoon and 7 pm Monday against Howard. Saturday will be Senior Day.

The meetings between Delaware State and Howard will be the first head-to-head matchups in Houston. The only other time the Hornets and Bison have come to Houston was when HBU hosted the Great West Conference Tournament in 2010.

HBU is 0-0-1 all-time against DSU and 1-0-0 against HU. HBU and DSU battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie last year in Delaware, while Amina Radoncic scored the only goal of the match in a 1-0 HBU win over Howard in Washington, D.C.

HBU (8-6-3, 2-1-0 GWC) had its six-match unbeaten streak snapped by the hands of Utah Valley last Saturday, as the Wolverines defeated HBU, 2-0, at Sorrels Field.

Natalie Hager and Taylor Gibson both lead the team with seven goals and 17 points. Arielle Rodriguez leads the Huskies with five assists, while Radoncic is second with four. Rodriguez and Molly Missimer are tied for third with seven points.

Shelby Horn will look to set the new program records for wins and shutouts in a season Saturday, as she is tied with Michelle Rich in each category, at 8 and 5, respectively. She has an 8-5-2 record, a 1.10 goals-against average, and a .815 save percentage.

Delaware State (3-8-1, 2-1-0 GWC) has won three of its last four matches and is currently tied with the Huskies for second place in the conference. DSU defeated South Carolina State, 2-1, and Howard, 1-0, last week.

Taylor Addison leads the Hornets with four goals and eight points, while Chelsea Boursiquot is second with two goals and four points. Addison has two of the three game-winning goals and has only taken 12 total shots, six of which have hit the target.

Katelyn Koslosky has played the majority of time in goal for DSU and has a 2-7-1 record, a 1.89 GAA, and a .779 save percentage.

Howard (2-14-2, 1-3-0 GWC) entered last week with a record of 0-14-2, but has won its last two matches. The most recent victory was a 1-0 conference win over NJIT.

Jordan Brown leads the Bison with three goals and seven points. Four other players are tied for second with two points apiece.

Kyra Dickinson has played the majority of time in goal and has a record of 2-14-2, a 1.93 GAA, and a .811 save percentage.

Prior to Saturday afternoon's match with Delaware State, HBU's five seniors will be recognized. They are Mandi Folger, Brandi Hart, Cindy Hedden, Kelsey Reichow, and Arielle Rodriguez.
