Basketball Faces UMKC on the Road Before Break

Huskies will have 10 days off before hosting Wyoming on New Year's Eve.

Game Notes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Houston Baptist looks to snap its three-game losing streak on the road against UMKC Tuesday night at 7:05 at the Swinney Recreation Center.

Senior guard Andrew Gonzalez leads the Huskies (1-9) with 21.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while junior forward Sammy Obetoh has started the last three games and averaged 13.3 points and 6.3 rebouns per game in those contests.

Jay Cousinard leads UMKC (6-4) with 15.7 points per game, while Spencer Johnson averages 10.8 points and a team-leading 9.3 rebounds per game. The Kangaroos have a pair of wins over HBU's Great West Conference rivals North Dakota, 69-61, on Saturday and Utah Valley, 70-63, on Dec. 8.

UMKC won the only other meeting between the two schools with a 102-87 victory in Houston on Dec. 12, 2009.

The Huskies will have a 10-day layoff over the Christmas break, returning to action at home against Wyoming on Dec. 31 at 2:05 p.m. at Sharp Gym.
