DIG IT!!! LUST SETS NEW CAREER MARK

Huskies sweep pair on second day of Southwestern Invitational

Georgetown - Stephanie Lust became the all-time leader in digs at HBU, helping the Huskies to a pair of victories on the second day of the Southwestern University Invitational. The Huskies swept University of Texas-Tyler, 30-15, 30-10, 30-10 in 50 minutes in the first match, then got past a stubborn Austin College in four games, 30-24, 27-30, 30-27, 30-22 in the finale.

One night after breaking her own school record for digs in a single match, Lust went to work on the career mark. Needing only nine digs to tie former teammate Jenae Alexander, Lust ripped off 22 digs against UT-Tyler to grab the record.

HBU took leads out of the gate in all three games and never let the Patriots get back in. The Huskies attacked at a .376 clip for the match and committed just nine attack errors. In game two, HBU attacked at a .520 percentage with 13 kills and no errors.

Megan Klimitchek led a balanced offense with 12 kills and six digs, and Bryce Zimmerman added eight kills and 12 digs. Jessica Barrera chipped in seven kills with 12 digs. Natalie Magat dished out 35 assists in 71 attempts for a set percentage of .493 to go along with nine digs.

In the second match, the Huskies began to feel the effects of the long weekend, and took a little time to shrug off the Kangaroos. Klimitchek again led the offense with 19 digs, followed closely by Megan Morris, who had a nice all-around match with 17 kills, six digs and four block assists.

Monica Simiyu had 16 kills and Jessica Barrera added nine kills and 22 digs. Natalie Magat had 63 assists and 10 digs.

HBU improves to 23-3 on the season. The Huskies will play their final road match of the season on Tuesday night when it travels across town to take on Texas Southern University.
