Senior middle blocker Blair Gillard was named to the all-tournament team at the Creeds & Crests Classic and helped lead the Huskies to a 3-1 record for the week. The La Grange, Texas, native averaged 2.36 kills and 1.79 blocks per set. Gillard opened the week with a seven-kill, three-block effort in a sweep of Prairie View A&M. On Friday, she was huge at the net, recording eight blocks in both four-set wins against UMass Lowell and UTSA. Gillard also posted eight kills against the River Hawks and 10 against the Roadrunners. In Saturday’s loss to Texas State, she had eight kills and six blocks (three solo).
