Senior lefthander Christian Thames hurled his first career shutout in a 4-0 victory over Southeastern Louisiana Saturday. He threw 108 pitches, scattering four hits, while striking out five and walking three for his fourth career complete game. Thames is 3-1 on the season, leading the Huskies with a 2.79 ERA and has 21 strikeouts and 10 walks in a team-leading 38.2 innings. The complete-game shutout marked HBU’s first since Curtis Jones blanked Sam Houston State, 6-0, in the 2015 Southland Conference Tournament title game.
