Junior middle blocker Blair Gillard led the Huskies as they went 1-2 in Southland Conference play this week, as she hit .438, averaged 2.75 kills and 1.08 blocks per set. In Monday's sweep of Abilene Christian, she had five kills, three blocks and an ace. In Thursday's four-set loss to league-leading Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Gillard hit .476 with 12 kills, three blocks and three aces. In Saturday's five-set loss to Incarnate Word, she hit .519 with 16 kills, seven blocks and an ace. Â Gillard leads the Southland in blocks with 1.26 per set and ranks eighth in the league with a .273 hitting percentage.
