Senior middle blocker Allison Doerpinghaus was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Third Team on Thursday, becoming the first student-athlete since the transition to DI in 2007 to earn such honors. The Palo Alto, California, native posted a 4.0 GPA in kinesiology and was earlier named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 First Team on Nov. 5. She was a Second Team All-Southland Conference selection this season, as she started every set and led the conference with 1.32 blocks per set in league play. For the season, she averaged 1.19 blocks per set and was sixth with a .327 hitting percentage.
