Redshirt sophomore Val Almendarez posted the first Top-5 finish of his career as he shot a two-over 212 to lead HBU to a fifth-place finish at the Colorado Invitational Tuesday. Entering Tuesday's third and final round, Almendarez had a share of the lead after firing a one-under 139 with rounds of 71 and 68. He had an eagle on the 12th hole in the second round.
