Martinez hit .562 (9-for-16) with a .611 on-base percentage and six runs as the Huskies won three-of-four road games last week, including two-of-three at Southland foe Southeastern Louisiana. He extended his hitting streak to six games in Sunday's series finale. In Saturday's doubleheader, he reached base safely nine times in ten at-bats, going 3-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored in the second game, after going 4-for-5 and scoring a pair of runs in the opener. Martinez began the week going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI at Texas Southern Tuesday. He leads HBU and ranks sixth in the SLC with a .372 batting average for the season, and is hitting .500 (17-for-34), which ranks third in the league, and is tied for the league lead with 11 runs in SLC play.
