Junior first baseman Andrew Alvarez led the Huskies' offensive onslaught as they took two-of-three from Sam Houston State and scored 35 runs in the series. Alvarez went 5-for-12 (.417) with a home run, three triples, seven RBIs, and scored six runs against the Bearkats. In Friday's opener, he went 2-for-4 with a triple, a home run, a walk, four RBIs, and three runs. In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, he went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and a pair of runs, then went 1-for-4 with a triple, a sacrifice fly, two RBIs, and a run in game two. He had a slugging percentage of 1.167 and a .467 on-base percentage for the week. Alvarez has four doubles, four triples, three home runs, and 24 RBIs for the season.
