Freshman Daniel Shelton shattered the school record in the 800 meters Saturday as the Huskies competed at the Rice Victor Lopez Classic. His time of 1:50.20 cut nearly four seconds off the previous record as he finished third in the race in a photo finish. On the season, Shelton is ranked 24th nationally, is the fifth-fastest freshman, and is ranked No. 2 in the Southland Conference.
