Senior P/3B Curtis Jones made two solid starts on the mound, going 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA, seven strikeouts, and no walks in 14.0 innings. In Tuesday's 2-1 victory over No. 8 Houston, Jones earned the win, holding the Cougars to one run on four hits with a strikeout and no walks in 7.0 innings. He also doubled home the eventual game-winning run in the top of the third. On three days rest, he took the loss on Saturday against McNeese State, allowing three runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and no walks in 7.0 innings. For the season, Jones has made four starts, faced three top-15 teams, and has a 1-2 record with a 3.08 ERA, 13 strikeouts, and three walks in 26.1 innings.
