Junior righfielder Brandon Bena extended his hitting streak to 15 games, during which he has hit .441 with eight doubles, a home run, 17 RBIs and 16 runs. He recorded multiple hits in all four games this week, leading the Huskies to a 3-1 record, and has multiple hits in each of the last five. In Tuesday’s win over UTRGV, he went 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBIs and two runs, then went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs in Friday’s series-opening loss to ACU. He followed by going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run as HBU won the second game of the doubleheader. In Saturday’s 8-1, series-clinching victory, Bena went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and a run. His three-run homer in the first inning staked the Huskies to a 4-0 lead. For his efforts, he was also voted Southland Conference Hitter of the Week by the league's sports information directors.
