Christian was named Great West Conference Track Male Newcomer of the Year, announced May 12 at the conclusion of the GWC Outdoor Track Championships, hosted by HBU. Christian won the 400 that day with a school record 48.20 clocking and led the 4x400 relay team to gold with a 3:15.90 with a stellar opening leg. He also won the long jump on May 10 and picked up a bronze in the 4x100 on May 12.
