Adkins won two golds at the Great West Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships last weekend. He shattered the school record in the 35-pound weight throw on Saturday on his final attempt to move from fourth to first with a massive 17.41 meters/57-1.5 toss that beat his previous best by almost three feet. On Sunday, Adkins won his second gold of the championship, this time in the shot put. He unleashed a season-best throw of 15.59 meters/51-1.75 to win by more than six inches.
