2022 (Senior): Balderas made 10 starts while appearing in 15 games…scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner in a Southland Conference matchup vs. Southeastern (9/23)…also scored in league play at Texas A&M-Commerce (9/9)…attempted 17 shots on the season with six on goal…played 638 minutes…named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2021 (Junior): Started 15 matches while appearing in all 19…finished the year with two goals and one assist for five points, all in SLC play…enjoyed a one goal, one assist performance in a 7-0 win over Nicholls (9/19)…scored her other goal against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (10/7)…put 11 of her 25 shot attempts on goal…logged 1,186 minutes on the pitch with a career-high 104 minutes played at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (9/10).

2020-21 (Sophomore): Played in 13 games and started one…one of six players to score one goal on the season, also had one assist for three total points…her goal and assist came in the same game, a 3-2 win over visiting Central Arkansas (3/5)…attempted 11 shots total with four on goal…played 529 minutes on the season.

2019 (Freshman): Appeared in 17 matches and made 14 starts…tied for second on the team in goals scored with three…scored in the season-opening win over Prairie View A&M (8/22), at Texas State (9/1) and at Abilene Christian (9/20)…attempted 20 shots on the season, putting nine on goal…totaled 1,032 minutes played for the season, playing a full 90 once, at Sam Houston State (9/27).

High School: Four-year letterwinner and starter for head coach Krystal Mikeska at North Dallas High School…earned district Offensive Player of the Year honors along with multiple All-District selections…National Honor Society member…was also a standout volleyball player…played club soccer for D’Feeters Kicks ECNL 00 and coach Juan Martinez…played in the 2018 ECNL playoffs.

Personal: Full name is Xya Asia Balderas…born June 11, 2001 in Dallas…daughter of Albert Balderas and Maria Hernandez…has three sisters, Isis, Anaya and Anais, and one brother, Alberto…majoring in kinesiology.
