Biography

2016 (Junior): Smith made 10 appearances on the mound, including three starts...went 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA, 21 strikeouts and 17 walks in 22.0 innings…struck out a career-high six in his first career start, a no-decision, at Prairie View A&M (4/26)…started and went three innings in a 7-3 win over Texas Southern (5/3)…earned his first career victory, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits in 5.1 innings at Texas Southern (5/10)…named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
 
2015 (Sophomore): Made one appearance against Arkansas State (2/28).
 
2014 (Freshman): Made three appearances and had a 0.00 ERA with a strikeout and a walk in 1.1 innings…allowed two unearned runs on one hit against Kansas (2/28)…allowed four unearned runs on four hits against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4/11)…pitched two-thirds of an inning, striking out one against Stephen F. Austin (5/16).
 
High School: Was a two-year letter winner under Coach Kelly Kerlin at Manvel High School…was named first team all-district his senior year.
