2014 (Junior): Garza made 15 appearances, all in relief, going 1-1 with three saves, a 5.40 ERA, 10 strikeouts and nine walks in 16.2 innings…tossed three perfect innings to earn his first save in the season-opening 6-2 victory over Prairie View A&M (2/14)…threw a perfect inning and struck out one to notch his second save in a 7-5, 15-inning win at Nicholls (3/15)…gave up one hit and struck out two in three innings of a 9-2 win over New Orleans (3/22) to earn the save.
 
Previous School: Played for Alcorn State University under Coach Barret Rey, where he helped contribute to a conference championship.
 
High School: Was a four-year letter winner under Coach Tudi Elizondo at Ingleside High School…was named all-district outfielder and all-district pitcher…during his senior year, in 75.1 inning pitched, he recorded a 2.51 ERA, seven wins, eight complete games, one save, 107 strikeouts and a .179 opponents batting average…was a member of the National Honor Society senior year.
