High School: Richards was a three-year letterwinner at Houston Christian High School...helped lead the Mustangs to the 2014 Southwest Preparatory Conference State Championship...as a senior, posted a 0.33 ERA with two complete games and seven saves...played his freshman season at Cypress Falls High School and earned second-team all-district honors...was a pitcher for the USA Baseball Gulf Coast Team in 2011 and was named to Houston Heat’s 17U Junior Olympic Team in 2012.
