2011 (Junior): Appeared in 61 games and started 59 at shortstop…was second on the team  with a .309 batting average to go along with seven doubles, a triple, 28 RBIs, 41 runs and four stolen bases…led the team with 12 sacrifice hits and was second on the team with 23 multiple-hit games…selected to the Great West Conference All-Tournament Team, hitting .409 (9-for-22) with five walks and nine runs in the six games…had a season-best eight-game hitting streak from May 8-May 20…had multiple hits in six of seven games from March 12-April 1, including a streak of four straight…had two hits at No. 7 TCU (3/12), then three hits in the series finale (3/13)…had two hits against Prairie View A&M (3/15) and Sam Houston State (3/22)…went 3-for-4 with two walks, an RBI and three runs against Dallas Baptist (4/1)…went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs against North Dakota (4/9) and again in the series finale (4/10)…went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs at NJIT (4/22)…had another streak of four straight multiple-hit games from April 30-May 6...went 2-for-4 with two runs against UT-Pan American (4/30)…went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, a season-high four RBIs and two runs against UT-Pan American (5/1)…went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs against New York Institute of Technology (5/20)…went 2-for-4 with three RBIs in the series finale against NYIT (5/21)…had four-straight multiple hit games in the Great West Conference Tournament…went 2-for-3 with three runs against NJIT (5/26), 2-for-3 with two runs against NYIT (5/27) and 2-for-4 with three runs against North Dakota (5/27).
 
Previous School: Played two seasons at Galveston College for coaches Javier Solis and Gary Key…as a sophomore was selected first-team all-conference…as a freshman was the team offensive player of the year and was named a Texas/New Mexico All-Star…hit .365 with four home runs and 40 RBIs as sophomore and .377 with seven home runs and 29 RBIs as a freshman…made the vice president’s list both years.
 
High School: Was a two-year letterwinner at Aledo High School for coach Jimmy Brockway…was a first-team all-district selection and made the academic all-district team.
 
Personal: Full name is Collin Matthew Hetzler…born July 26, 1990, in Fort Worth, Texas…son of Matt Hetzler and Amy Milner…has one brother, Hoby, and one sister, Laine…stepbrother Hoby Milner, is a sophomore pitcher at the University of Texas…stepfather, Brian Milner, played in the Toronto Blue Jays organization and was with the Major League squad in 1978…enjoys surfing…majoring in journalism and mass communication.
