2011 (Junior): Made 17 appearances and started a team-high 15 games…posted a 3-10 record with a 6.20 ERA and was second on the team with 42 strikeouts in a team-high 90.0 innings…earned Great West Conferene Pitcher of the Week honors after taking a no-hitter into the last inning of the Huskies’ 11-0, seven-inning win at NJIT (4/22)…finished the game, allowing just two hits and striking out three…earned his first win of the season, allowing five earned runs and striking out four in eight innings against North Dakota (4/8)…scattered five hits in five shutout innings and struck out four to earn the win at Chicago State (5/6)…took a no-decision, allowing two earned runs and striking out a season-high five in 6.2 innings of the Huskies’ 6-5 victory over UT-Pan American in the Great West Conference Tournament (5/24).
 
2010 (Sophomore): Earned second-team all-Great West Conference honors…appearned in 16 games on the mound, including 15 starts, going 8-5 with a 5.06 ERA as a sophomore…led the team in wins (8), strikeouts (50) and innings pitched (99.2)…led the Great West in innings pitched and ranked seventh in ERA...pitched six or more innings in 11 of his 15 starts, including eight where he went seven or more…went 4-2 with a 4.15 ERA, struck out 23, walked only seven and did not allow a home run in seven starts in conference play…earned his first career win at HBU, allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits and striking out a career-high seven in 7.2 innings against Bryant (2/27)…gave up one earned run on 11 hits in 8.0 innings to pick up the win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3/17)…pitched 7.1 innings to get the victory in a 6-5 win over Texas-Pan American (3/26)…allowed two earned runs on 10 hits in a 7-6 victory over NJIT (4/9)…gave up only one run on eight hits 7.0 innings of an 18-3 victory at New York Tech (4/16)…pitched 7.2 innings in a 16-9 win over Chicago State (4/30)…gave up one earned run in 7.0 innings of a 5-3 victory at North Dakota (5/14)…tossed his first complete game as a Husky against the Fighting Sioux, allowing three runs on eight hits, in HBU’s opening-round win at the Great West Conference tournament (5/26).
 
Previous College: Played one season for coach Corey Mercer at Northlake Junior College...posted a 7-6 record with a 3.03 ERA in 90 innings...struck out 77 while walking 14.
 
High School: Was a two-time first-team all-district selection for coach Ricky Crawford...as a senior, was team captain and team MVP and was named All-Greater Houston and was selected to the HABCA All-Star Southeast team...went 6-2 with a 2.34 ERA, while hitting .437 with six home runs and 47 RBIs...as a junior, posted a 9-2 record with a 1.01 ERA...member of National Honor Society, PALS and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
 
Personal: Born Aug. 17, 1990...son of Don and Rebecca Schafer...has one brother, Deyton, and two sisters, Stacie and Dalise...father played pro beach volleyball in California...enjoys writing and watching movies…majoring in marketing.
