2012 (Junior): Gonzalez is tied for 10th on HBU’s all-time hits list (171), ranks fourth in doubles (47), tied for fifth in triples (11), 15th in home runs (15), eighth in RBIs (127) and seventh in saves (5)…started all 61 games in centerfield and made 15 relief appearances…hit .328 and led the team with 19 doubles, nine triples, five home runs, 63 RBIs, 130 total bases, a .546 slugging percentage and five saves…his 19 doubles tied for 13th on HBU’s single season list, while his nine triples tied for second, his 63 RBIs tied for sixth and his five saves ranks fifth…on the mound, went 2-2 with a 3.86 ERA, five saves, 27 strikeouts and 16 walks in 21.0 innings…he led the team in opponents’ batting average at .235…hit .407 with runners in scoring position and .370 with runners on base…led the team with 22 multiple-hit and 13 multiple-RBI games…had a season-long 15-game hitting streak from March 11-Aprill11…went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run, a walk, three RBIs, two runs scored and tossed two scoreless innings to earn the save in the second game as the Huskies swept Chicago State in a doubleheader (4/6)…had two hits in each game of the Chicago State series, going 8-for-11 (.727) and driving in eight runs…went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBIs in a 6-5 victory in the series opener at Northern Colorado (4/20)…went 3-for-6 with a double, five RBIs and two runs in a 17-5 win over Northern Colorado in the second game of a doubleheader (4/21)…struck out a career-high eight of the 13 batters he faced, throwing a season-long 3.1 innings to notch the victory in a 6-4 win at NYIT (4/27)…set the Great West Tournament record with seven RBIs against Northern Colorado (5/25), going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and two runs scored in an 11-5 decision that eliminated the Bears…earned all-tournament honors, going 13-for-25 (.520) with three doubles, a triple, 13 RBIs and eight runs scored in six postseason games.
2011 (Sophomore): Appeared in and started 56 games in the outfield…hit .279 four home runs and 30 runs…led the team with 21 doubles, which is tied for fourth on the HBU single-season list, and was second on the team with 46 RBIs…had 15 multiple-hit and was second on the team with 11 multiple-RBI games…had a season-long nine-game hitting streak from April 22-May 1 and enters the 2012 season with an eight-game hitting streak…homered in the opener at New Mexico State (2/18)…went 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs against Dallas Baptist (4/1)…went 3-for-5 with three RBIs in the series finale against North Dakota (4/10)…went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs at NJIT (4/22)…went 2-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs against UT-Arlington (4/26)…went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and a pair of runs against UT-Pan American (4/29)…doubled and drove in three against UT-Pan American (5/1)…went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs at Chicago State (5/6)…went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and two runs at Prairie View A&M (5/10)…went 2-for-3 with two RBIs at Utah Valley (5/13)…went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs against New York Institute of Technology (5/21)…went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, five RBIs and two runs against NJIT (5/26) in the Great West Conference Tournament…drove in a pair as the Huskies eliminated North Dakota (5/27) in the Great West Conference Tournament.
2010 (Freshman): Appeared in 44 games, including 33 starts in left field and two at designated hitter…also made 13 relief appearances…hit .244 and tied for third on the team with six home runs and had seven doubles and 18 RBIs…had 11 two-hit games…on the mound, went 2-0 with a 6.66 ERA…went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs against Bryant (2/27)…homered in back-to-back games in which he had plate appearances against New York Tech (4/16 & 4/18)…had a career-high three RBIs in the opener against Chicago State (4/30)…pitched 4.0 scoreless innings of relief, allowing only one hit, against New Mexico State (4/2)…earned his first career win, throwing 7.2 innings in relief, and allowing three runs, two earned, on nine hits and striking out six as the Huskies rallied from a 10-1 deficit for an 11-10 victory over Chicago State in the finale (5/2)…picked up his second win by tossing 1.2 perfect innings of relief as the Huskies scored three runs in the top of the ninth for a 4-3 victory at Texas-Pan American (5/8)...made the Dean’s List in the fall.
High School: Helped lead the Buccaneers to back-to-back playoff appearances as a junior and senior for coach Bobby Williams...earned first-team all-state and first-team all-Greater Houston honors as a senior...first-team all-district selection as a junior and senior...named all-county offensive player of the year...graduated summa cum laude with a 97.65 grade average.
