2017 (Junior): Smart made 11 appearances out of the bullpen…went 1-2 with a 7.64 ERA, 13 strikeouts and 10 walks in 17.2 innings…pitched two shutout innings against Fordham (2/18)…allowed one run on six hits in four innings of relief to earn the win at 25^th-ranked Houston (2/21) …named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
 
Previous School: Played two seasons at Tyler Junior College for coaches Doug Wren and Chad Sherman...as a sophomore, made 17 appearances, going 4-1 with a 3.43 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 44.2 innings…won back-to-back NJCAA national championships, starting and earning the win in the 2016 championship game.
 
High School: Was a four-year letterwinner at Hempstead High School for coach and former Husky Ryan Majewski...earned all-state honors…was named All-District Pitcher of the Year.
 
Personal: Full name is Weston Reed Smart...born Jan. 25, 1996, in Hempstead, Texas…son of Rusty and Carol Smart…has three older brothers: James, Kevin and Dylan…majoring in business management.
