Biography

2013 (Redshirt Freshman): Schwertner appeared in 16 games, making four starts – two in the outfield and two at designated hitter…batted .059 with a double, an RBI, scored three runs and stole a base…went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, two runs, a walk and a hit by pitch at Prairie View A&M (4/23).
 
2012 (Freshman): Redshirted his first season at HBU.
 
High School: Played for coach Tom DeBerry at Hargrave High School...as a senior, hit .476 with four home runs, seven doubles, two triples, 27 RBIs and 30 runs.
 
Personal: Full name is Nathan James Schwertner…born Feb. 22, 1993, in Belton, Texas…son of Stephen and Kathy Bowers…has three sisters: Lindsey, Kayla and Annie…majoring in finance and economics.
