EDINBURG, Texas – HCU hits the road for a Sunday morning match against the UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros on a five-match unbeaten streak, kicking off at 11:00 a.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
 
The Huskies (4-3-3, 0-0-1 SLC) are 3-0-2 over their last five outings, most recently opening Southland Conference play with a 1-1 home draw against the Nicholls Colonels. Isabella Dillow scored her fifth goal of the season, and her fourth goal in as many matches, in the tie with an assist from Ella Remy on a free kick.
 
Dillow leads the Huskies with 12 points (5 goals, 2 assists) while Paisley Barela has scored three times and has three assists for nine points. In goal, Emmy McKeon ranks third in the SLC with 37 saves so far this year.
 
UTRGV (4-5-1, 0-1-1 SLC) earned a 1-1 draw on the road against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this past Thursday with junior Rubi Ortiz scoring her first goal of the season. Junior Isabella Burtini leads the Vaqueros with five goals, including a pair of two-goal performances against Sam Houston and Prairie View A&M earlier in the year. Mariana Amezcua has played the most minutes in goal for UTRGV and owns a 3-4-1 record with a 1.41 goals against average.
 
HCU is looking for its first-ever win against UTRGV as the Vaqueros lead the all-time series 2-0-2. Last season, UTRGV defeated the Huskies on their home field, 1-0.
 
Following Sunday's game, the Huskies will return home to Sorrels Field to host Stephen F. Austin on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 7:00 p.m.
