BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Houston Christian University's
Harvey Heeps has been named Goalkeeper of the Week for the span of August 24-30, his first career weekly accolade.
The Huskies fell to UC San Diego in their only outing of last week, dropping a 1-0 decision on a late goal in the 85th minute. Heeps suffered the loss in that match despite a career best seven saves as he faced 13 total shots, eight on goal.
The Bedfordshire, England native has been solid in his debut season in the pipes and has now made 18 saves through four games. He posted his first career victory and first clean sheet in a 1-0 blanking of UMass Lowell on August 23 at Sorrels Field.
HCU is now 1-3 on the season following Monday night's loss at No. 5 ranked SMU. The Huskies will continue their three-match road stretch as they travel to California for a Friday night tilt at California State Northridge.
