Levi Castilleja had a big weekend, going 8-for-9 at the plate and reaching base nine times as the Huskies went 2-1 in their weekend series against McNeese to earn Southland Conference Co-Hitter of the Week honors.
Castilleja posted an .889 average in the two games he played with HCU and McNeese playing a Friday doubleheader and a single game on Saturday. On Friday, the HCU backstop went 4-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored. He then followed that up with a 4-for-5 performance while also reaching on an error on Saturday, driving in five and scoring twice with his first home run of the season.
He is now hitting .548 for the season in 11 games played, starting 10 of them. Castilleja has 13 RBI and 12 runs scored so far and his six doubles.
