STANFORD, Calif. – HCU beach lost a pair of duals on Friday at the Stanford Invitational, suffering 5-0 defeats at the hands of No. 11 Long Beach State and No. 2 Stanford.
The Huskies (1-12) began the day by taking on LBSU (8-3). In the 5-0 loss,
Alexa Landmark and
Lauren Vickery fell in two sets by a final of 21-13, 21-14. Later in the day, HCU took on a strong Stanford (13-2) side that dispatched all five Huskies' pairs in two sets.
Hannah Foor and
Olivia Zeigler made a run at the Cardinal's No. 1 pair but fell, 21-17, 21-16.
HCU will take on two more ranked opponents on Saturday, Mar. 14, facing No. 16 North Florida at 10:00 a.m. CT before closing out the tournament against No. 18 Washington at 12:00 p.m. CT.
