HAMMONDl, La. – The HCU women's basketball team returns to the road Saturday afternoon, traveling to Hammond, Louisiana to face Southeastern at 1 p.m. at the University Center. The matchup marks the second meeting between the programs this season and continues a stretch of key Southland Conference contests for the Huskies.
HCU enters the weekend looking to build momentum away from Sharp Gym after facing Southeastern earlier this year in Houston. The Huskies hold a 3–13 record all-time in the series but secured a 77–70 victory in the most recent meeting on Dec. 12, 2025, snapping a six-game skid against the Lady Lions.
In their last trip to Hammond on Jan. 27, HCU fell 65–41, but the Huskies have shown steady progress since that contest. Saturday's game offers an opportunity to even the season series and collect a valuable conference road win.
The Huskies continue to rely on balanced scoring and defensive pressure. HCU has emphasized points off turnovers and second-chance opportunities throughout league play, while the bench has provided key minutes in recent outings.
Southeastern enters the matchup aiming to defend its home court, where it has won four of the last five meetings against HCU. The Lady Lions have limited opponents to 55.4 points per game in the all-time series.
Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. with live coverage available on ESPN+ and live stats through HCUAthletics.com.
