BATON ROUGE, La. – The HCU beach volleyball team fell to 1-7 for the season with weekend, going 0-4 at the LSU Tiger Beach Bash.
The Huskies dropped a pair of 5-0 decision on Friday, falling to 12
th-ranked LSU before dropping a matchup against Tulane later in the day. All five duals in the LSU match finished in two sets with
Claudia Verdejo Lozano and
Dariya Tlevlessova falling just short in both sets (21-18, 21-18) on court 4. Against the Green Wave,
Allie Patton and
Mycah Whittemore took their match on court 5 to three sets, ultimately falling 21-19, 11-21, 17-15.
On Saturday, Patton and Whittemore earned HCU's point in a 4-1 loss to North Alabama. The win came on court 5 with the HCU duo winning, 21-19, 21-18.
Grace Melnick and
Lauren Vickery fell in a close one on court 3 (21-19, 21-18). In a 5-0 loss to UAB,
Alexa Landmark and
Paige Palmer fell in two on court 2 (21-19, 22-20).
The Huskies will head north for Fort Worth, Texas for the TCU Invitational this coming Friday and Saturday, Mar. 6-7, for duals against TCU, Florida Gulf Coast and two against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
