FRISCO, Texas – Sophomore
Emmy McKeon was named Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks on Tuesday morning.
In a pair of conference matches, McKeon totaled 10 saves with just a pair of goals allowed. The two goals both came in a heartbreaking 2-1 loss at Lamar in which the sophomore made seven saves. She then followed that up with a three-save shutout performance against a Northwestern State squad that defeated a ranked Texas team in non-conference play.
McKeon now has three shutouts in her last four games. She ranks third among SLC goalkeepers this season in saves per game (5.14), save percentage (.800), goals against average (1.29) and shutouts per game (.429).
The Huskies are back at it on their home field this Thursday, Oct. 2, when they host UT Rio Grande Valley at 7:00 p.m. at Sorrels Field.
