SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Day two at the Cal Poly Mustang Roundup saw the HCU beach program drop a pair of duals to ranked opponents, falling to No. 14 Grand Canyon and No. 6 Cal Poly at the Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex.
HCU (5-9) first faced 14
th-ranked Grand Canyon (10-5) with the Lopes taking the first two points of the dual in two sets at the fours and fives. The deciding point came at court 2 before

Rachel Heilbrun won on court 1 in a 21-18, 26-24 final. No. 3 pair
Alexa Landmark and
Tatum Lockhardt went to three sets before falling, 21-16, 17-21, 15-13.
In the evening matchup against sixth-ranked Cal Poly (10-2) ended 5-0 in the Mustangs' favor.
HCU begins Southland Conference play on Monday, Mar. 17, with a pair of neutral site matchups in San Luis Obispo against Boise State at 1:00 p.m. CT before taking on San Jose State at 3:00 p.m. CT.
