NATCHITOCHES, La. – The HCU women's basketball team lost its' season finale on Saturday afternoon inside Prather Coliseum, falling to the host Northwestern State Lady Demons in a 71-53 final.
The Huskies (6-23, 3-17 SLC) and Lady Demons (14-15, 11-8 SLC) were tied 4-4 early on before the hosts used a 13-4 run to go ahead 17-8. From there, Northwestern State scored the next 27 and then led 44-11 at halftime.
HCU out-scored NSU, 41-27, in the second half to cut the deficit down to just the 18-point difference at the end.
Victoria Dixon scored a team-high 12 points for the Huskies, shooting 5-of-17 from the floor while also adding three steals.
Tiffany Tullis registered a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds.
The Huskies shot just 29.9 percent (20-of-67) for the day and connected on 30.8 percent (8-of-26) from behind the arc. NSU, meanwhile, made 25-of-68 (36.8 percent) as a team. The Lady Demons held a 52-41 advantage on the boards.
HCU's season comes to a close with the loss.
