Houston Christian University Head Coach Ryan Pratt announced on Friday afternoon his first signings for the 2026 recruiting class, with transfers Clarenns Sainrimat and Noah Fernandes prepared to join the Huskies in the Spring semester.
A 6'1 winger, Sainrimat hails from Marcoussis, France. He spent his first two seasons at Tusculum College in Tennessee. He played in 13 of 14 matches as a freshman and led the Pioneers with four goals, three assists and 11 points. He played the first seven fixtures of his sophomore campaign with a goal and assist before injury cut his season short.
PRATT ON SAINRIMAT
"Clarenns is a dynamic winger that will add a different dimension to our attack as a winger! He is quick, pacey, strong, and loves to go at defenders in the final third! He will be a wonderful addition to our attacking group and provide a dynamic threat in 1v1 situations!"
Fernandes comes to HCU from University of Auburn-Montgomery. The A 5'9 midfielder from Mertzig, Luxembourg led UAM with seven goals, seven assists and 21 points during his freshman season. He had four game-winning goals to lead the Gulf South Conference, and was named to the All-GSC First Team as well as the Conference Commissioners Association All-South Region first team.
PRATT ON FERNANDES
"Noah brings experience and outstanding offensive abilities to our program. He has great vision, sees the passes very well, and is very good in the final third as he is a dual threat to score and assist plays. He is very versatile and can play as both a winger and a forward."
Pratt's Huskies finished their third season in the Ohio Valley Conference with an 11-5-3 mark overall and a 5-3-2 record in the league. The Huskies recorded the most victories in a single season since the 1990 team won 14 and have are now 10-5-5 in league play over the past two seasons. The Huskies advanced for the second straight year to the Ohio Valley Conference championship match, both of which have gone double-overtime with this being the first in the three years of the OVC to go to penalties.
HCU claimed half of the league's six major awards and for the second straight season had seven players earn postseason honors. D'Alessandro Herrera was named Midfielder of the Year for the second time, Alex Aitken collected Goalkeeper of the Year honors and Joby Reid was named Freshman of the Year, the third straight season for HCU to claim that honor. Ryan Okerayi and Nico Kross joined Herrera and Aitken on the All-OVC first team, with Ricardo Garcia being named to the second team. Reid and Ben Thirkill were selected to the All-Newcomer squad.
