WBB: HCU Falls to No. 5 LSU in Season Opener

Sophomore Grace Booth leads the Huskies with 17 points off the bench

BATON ROUGE, La. - HCU opened the 2025–26 season Tuesday night at the Maravich Assembly Center, falling to No. 5 LSU by a 108–55 final.

LSU (1-0) scored the first eight points of the game but the Huskies (0-1) went on a 7-2 burst that included five points from freshman Kamryn McLaurin to cut the deficit down to just three, 10-7, a little over four minutes into the game. The Tigers scored the next 10 points, however, and led 26-13 at the end of the quarter. The fifth-ranked Tigers then continued to extend their lead as the game went on.

Grace Booth led HCU with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting while Kamryn McLaurin added 10 points and Jordan Jackson scored 9 with three made threes. HCU hit eight threes as a team and posted 36 points off the bench.

LSU finished 53.2 percent from the field and generated 46 points off turnovers and 56 points in the paint. MiLaysia Fulwiley had 21 to lead LSU, and Mikaylah Williams added 14.

HCU returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2:00 p.m., traveling to Stephenville, Texas to face Tarleton State.
