WSOC: Murillo Selected First Team All-SLC

HCU’s senior defender finished her senior year with one goal and four assists

FRISCO, Texas – On Monday, the day before the start of the 2025 Southland Conference Tournament, HCU senior defender Alexia Murillo was named a first team all-SLC selection in an announcement by the league office.

Murillo has been a mainstay on the pitch for the Huskies, starting all 19 games and spending a grand total of 50 minutes on the bench all season. The senior finished the regular season with a team-high four assists to tie for eighth in the conference. Three of her assists came in conference play, to tie for fifth among all SLC players.

Three of Murillo's assists this season came in HCU wins, including over SLC champion Northwestern State when the Huskies scored off a corner kick taken by the senior. Her goal came in the season-opener at Rice.

Murillo and the Huskies open the SLC Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 4, morning in Beaumont, Texas as the No. 5 seed against No. 4 seed East Texas A&M with kickoff set for 10:00 a.m.
