HOUSTON - The volleyball team extended its Southland Conference winning streak to 3-0 with a commanding 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 sweep of McNeese on Thursday at Sharp Gym. The Huskies (8-8, 3-0 Southland) displayed balanced offense and solid defense throughout, holding the Cowgirls (5-10, 1-2 Southland) to under 22 points in each set.
The Huskies jumped out to a strong start in the first set, converting kills from
Joya Euhus,
Hannah Redrow, and
Allana Archie to build an early lead.
Peyton Fadal orchestrated the offense with 37 assists, setting up her teammates efficiently while contributing eight digs of her own. Houston Christian closed out the set with a service ace from
Kennedy Schramm, sealing a 25-19 opening win.
In set two, Houston Christian maintained control with steady attacks from Euhus and Redrow, while defensive contributions from
Bianca Byerly (10 digs) kept the Huskies ahead. The team continued to capitalize on McNeese errors and timely blocks, including two from Archie, to secure the set 25-20.
The third set saw HCU sustain their momentum despite a late push from McNeese. Euhus and Redrow led the offensive charge, supported by kills from Garza and a final finishing kill from
Taylor Bonner-Williams. Houston Christian sealed the sweep 25-21, dominating the net with five blocks and limiting McNeese's attack efficiency to just .150 across the match.
